Do I need an internet connection?
Only to activate your license and to confirm it once every 14 days. Transcription runs fully offline on your computer, and your footage never leaves it.
Which versions of After Effects and Premiere Pro are supported?
After Effects 2020 and newer, Premiere Pro 2024 and newer. The installer you get with your purchase can install PhraseKit into After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Is anything different in Premiere Pro?
Yes. In Premiere Pro each word is a separate clip on its own track rather than a text layer, and the available styles and effects may differ from After Effects.
Does it work on Mac and Windows?
Yes: Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 11 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel.
Which languages are supported?
Pick from 10 languages in the menu — English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Polish — or use Auto-detect for any of the 99 languages of the Whisper model. Speech is always transcribed in the language it was spoken in — never translated.
How do I get support?

Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime — use the link in your payment receipt email.
Can I use my own subtitles?
Yes. Load an .srt or .vtt file and PhraseKit turns it into animated word layers without running recognition.
Is word recognition always accurate?
No. Automatic recognition is not always correct, and the result depends on the quality of the recording: background noise, music, overlapping voices and unclear speech all cause more mistakes. Check the captions before publishing — every word can be corrected by hand.
How long does generation take?
It depends on many factors: how powerful your computer is, how long the footage is, how many words it has and which style you choose. There is no fixed time — try it on your own footage during the free trial.
How big is the download?
About 590 MB, and you need about 1 GB of free disk space. The speech model is included, so nothing else needs to be installed.
